ABOUT PACE PRIMITIVE

Founded in 1973, Pace Primitive is the tribal art department affiliated with the Pace Gallery. The gallery maintains an inventory of museum-quality African, Himalayan, Oceanic, and Native American art. Pace Primitive is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA).

Carlo Bella has been the director of Pace Primitive since 2002 and has worked with tribal art for over twenty years. He has been quoted as an expert in the field by such publications as Le Monde de L'Art Tribal and the London Financial Times.
Austin Kennedy holds a BA in Literary Translation from Brown University and studied Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. He joined Pace Primitive in 2005 with experience in contemporary art and commercial photography.
Carly Passuite comes to Pace Primitive with experience in art and the fashion industry. She received her BA from Boston University, where she studied Art History and Studio Art and interned at the MFA Boston. She also studied Fashion at Parsons School of Design in New York.
